How Meridian WorksFrom Asset to Token in Days
Meridian bridges the gap between Atlantic Canada's heavy maritime assets and institutional-grade digital investment infrastructure—compliantly, securely, and in real-time.
Three Steps to Real Yield
Each step is designed for institutional standards with zero compromise on compliance.
Asset Origination
We identify and vet high-yield hardware assets across the North Atlantic—commercial vessels, offshore platforms, and ROVs with proven revenue track records.
What happens in this step
- Third-party appraisal and physical inspection
- Minimum 2-year operating history required
- Charter contracts and revenue verification
- IoT/SCADA readiness assessment
- Geopolitical and environmental risk scoring
Legal Wrapping & Tokenization
Assets are structured inside a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and tokenized via ERC-3643—a permissioned token standard designed for regulated securities.
What happens in this step
- SPV formed under Canadian corporate law
- ERC-3643 token issuance (permissioned by design)
- Investor KYC/AML screening via AWS Bedrock
- CSA Regulatory Sandbox compliance review
- Smart contract audit by third-party firm
Yield Distribution
Investors receive automated dividend distributions streamed directly to their wallets as the asset generates revenue—no intermediaries, no delays.
What happens in this step
- Real-time IoT data → Chainlink oracle → Smart contract
- Automated yield calculation based on live asset data
- Direct wallet-to-wallet dividend streaming
- Monthly compliance reports to all token holders
- Secondary market access for liquidity events

Why Meridian is Different
Not just another tokenization platform. Purpose-built for Atlantic Canada's unique asset class.
Regulatory Compliance by Design
ERC-3643 permissioned tokens mean only KYC'd investors can hold. We operate inside the CSA Regulatory Sandbox—not around it.
Real-Time Verification
IoT sensors stream live telemetry to Chainlink oracles. Asset performance data is anchored on-chain—no reporting delays, no information asymmetry.
Canadian Data Sovereignty
All infrastructure runs on AWS Canada (Central). Data never leaves Canadian jurisdiction. PIPEDA-compliant by default.
No Middlemen on Yield
Revenue flows from asset → smart contract → investor wallet automatically. No fund managers, no custodians taking a cut.
Institutional-Grade Infrastructure
99.99% uptime SLA, AWS KMS key management, SOC 2 Type II audit. Built for the same standard as tier-1 financial platforms.
Speed to Capital
Skip 6-month bank underwriting cycles. Asset partners can raise $5M–$50M in days without equity dilution or collateral seizure risk.
Common Questions
What is a Real World Asset (RWA)?
A Real World Asset is a physical asset—like a ship, oil platform, or ROV—whose ownership is represented as a digital token on a blockchain. Token holders receive a proportional share of the asset's revenue.
Who can invest in Meridian tokens?
Currently, Meridian tokens are available only to accredited investors who pass our KYC/AML screening. ERC-3643's permissioned transfer system enforces this automatically at the smart contract level.
How are yields calculated and distributed?
Yields are derived from actual asset revenue—charter rates, operational income, etc.—fed into our smart contracts via Chainlink oracles in real-time. Distributions happen automatically to token holders' wallets.
What happens if an asset is damaged or loses value?
All assets on Meridian maintain standard marine hull and liability insurance. Token holders bear proportional risk, which is disclosed in the Risk Disclosure document. Loss scenarios are covered in our terms.
Is Meridian regulated?
Yes. We operate as a participant in the Canadian Securities Administration (CSA) Regulatory Sandbox and are preparing for FINTRAC MSB registration. Our legal page has the full regulatory status.
How do I exit my investment?
Meridian is building secondary market liquidity protocols (Phase 3). In the near term, token transfers are possible between verified investors. Long-term liquidity options are outlined in each offering document.
